Favorite Food Spots in London
As promised here is part 2 of my London shenanigans. Many of you know I live to eat, not eat to live, so I spend more time looking for restaurants on my adventures than anything else. Here’s my list of ‘must check out’ food spots in London. In no particular order.
SMOKESTAK - Brisket Bun with pickled red chilis and skin on chips with an aioli dip. This BBQ was amazing and I’m not gonna lie I set the bar low for BBQ in London. They did not disappoint and this brisket went above and beyond my expectations. Atmosphere and service was top notch as well.
Goswell Road Coffee - tried a ton of coffee shops in London while I was there but nothing compared to the coffee and pastries at GRC. Fun little spot to hang out.
The Lyric Soho - Fish & Chunky Chips with a chocolate stout (can’t remember the name, UK exclusive). This was the pub experience I was looking for while I was in London. Everyone was super friendly, went and sat upstairs to eat, had a giant ass piece of fried fish that was excellent and finished it off with the crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside chips. If I had to pick a #1 restaurant on this list, it would easily go to The Lyric.
Bun House - a SUPER SUPER tiny restaurant that serves the most magical buns. I tried a pork and a beef bun and wish I had room for more. They were the most flavor filled buns I’ve ever had. The bun itself was steamed to perfection.
Bake 麵包屋 - Soft Serve Vanilla Taiyakiya. This was a fun little find while wandering around Chinatown. Give it a go.
Crumbs & Doilies - Double Chocolate Cookie and Tiramisu Cupcake. I have been following the CupcakeJemma account on Youtube for a LOOOONG time. I love trying out their recipes so I felt like I needed to try out their goodies. C&D did not disappoint. I need to try more recipes since it will be awhile before I make the trip back.
Butchies - Chicken Tenders with Fries. I have traveled all over the US for food. Fried chicken being one of them. I wasn’t sure how this was gonna go, but it was wonderful. The batter on the tenders was crispy and had a little kick to it, while you could taste that the chicken had been marinated in buttermilk. Loved the theming as well. If you need a chicken fix after eating fish for too many days, I highly recommend.
McDonald’s - Tiramisu McFlurry and DEEP FRIED Apple Pies. Need I say more?
