Fruity Pebble Cereal Milk Cake

I am up to my usual shenanigans with baking experiments and really hit the nail on the head with this one. I received multiple DM’s on Instagram after I posted pictures asking for the recipe. SO, here we go.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Box of Fruity Pebbles

  • 1 Box of Vanilla Cake mix (and ingredients required)

  • 1/2 Gallon of Whole Milk

  • 1 Container of Whipped Cream

  • Pinch of Salt

Cereal Milk: Add 4 cups of cereal to a large bowl and pour over 4 cups of whole milk (The more fat in the milk, the more flavor it retains). Let that sit for an hour, mixing occasionally.

After the milk is done steeping for an hour, get another large bowl and a fine mesh sifter. Pour your cereal over the sifter and let the milk drip through. You can help speed this process up by using a silicone spatula and pushing down on the cereal. Add a pinch of salt to the cereal milk and stir.

Cake: Next, you need a vanilla cake mix (I prefer Betty’s boxed cake mix). Prepare that as instructed and add in 1/2 cup of smashed up Fruity Pebbles. This gives it some color and a little more cereal taste. Bake in a 9”x13” pan.

Once the cake is done in the oven, let it cool for 20 minutes. At this point you’re going to poke holes all over the cake. I prefer using a fork, toothpick, or a skewer.

Pour the cereal milk over the cake and let soak at room temperature for an hour. Finally, top with whip cream and extra cereal for a little extra crunch.
