Line Variation is My Favorite

I’ve realized that when I am working on drawings, the ones I love the most are the ones with a large variety in ink line widths. This is 100% a personal preference. If you look at my work from 5-6 years ago I loved the one line widths for inking. I despise that look now. It is very boring and flat with no dimension. I have been working hard at mastering the new brush pens in my collection, but lets be real…I’m faking it until I make it. It seems to be working just fine because I am loving 80% of my current work. Granted, I feel like only 15% of it is * chefs kiss *, but that’s better than 0%!

Fun update if you actually read my blogs. I am working on a one page 2022 calendar design that you will be able to download and print on your own and any up! That should be up soon. I am also working on getting some nice prints made (remember back in the 2012-2015 era!!?), and printing my own t-shirts. Further down the line I’d love to make zines with my recipes and other non-sense, but for now I’ll stick with in-house production. Who knows what will happen in a year? I might have the room and money for my own Riso machine. Thanks a bunch for reading friends!
