Why Not?

I get asked all the time about all of the crazy projects I work on and why I do them. Simply put, why not? I have so many lives I want to live, but were only here for a short time! If the opportunity presents itself, I am going to take it and run with it. There is also the factor of- does it bring me joy? If so, why not take the time to create all of these things I make every week? Obviously a larger goal is to grow an audience (the most powerful thing you can have in this current age) and maybe create a source of income out of it.

Overall, putting my brain to work is what keeps me out of trouble. Yes, I could easily sit in front of the TV and play Xbox with any free time I have, but why not make something to share with the world. The Xbox will always be there and I still play for short periods of time here and there (so many games coming out next year AGH). I LOVE making things. I get sad and frustrated when I am not able to create something everyday. Even if it is a busy day and I only get to sketch for 3o minutes before bed, I’ll take it.

All of these things take time, but there are lessons to be learned from all of them, people to meet, and others to stay connected with no matter what app is popular in the moment. I have my home base on the internet with my website, blog, newsletter, and vlog. I love talking to people and hearing they enjoy my blog or loved watching my YouTube videos. If you have fun with it, it can open opportunities you had no clue existed! I’ve worked with some awesome people and companies over the past couple of years. None of that would be possible without everything I make!

I guess the overall lesson for this post is if you enjoy something and someone asks you why you bother with it…why not?
